Outgoing Sheriff Steve Funkhouser holds a resolution of appreciation adopted by the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors on Monday, Jan. 13. Funkhouser retired Dec. 31 after serving 29 years in the sheriff’s department, the last five as sheriff. A 1987 graduate of Natural Bridge High School who holds a degree in criminal justice from Radford University, Funkhouser also served
