Trump ‘Opposite’ To Carter’s Example
Jan. 2, 2025 Editor, The News-Gazette: The recent death of Jimmy Carter is a reminder of decency in the world. Was he a great president — in hindsight, yes, he was. He accomplished much during his four years, including requiring me as a young lieutenant in Korea to inventory the Company Arms Room multiple times when he visited Camp Casey as president. I saw him run by with every general and colonel in the 2nd Infantry Division trailing after him.
It is a shame that we have elected a man to be president who is opposite of everything he stood for and whose life is direct opposite to the example of Jimmy Carter. But then again, who said the human race was smart? HANK FORESMAN Fishersville
