High Bridge

Esther Pennington, 291-2629

Lighting the second (Peace) candle of Advent this past Sunday at High Bridge Presbyterian Church were Andy, Heidi, Miller and Peyton Jay.

Visiting High Bridge this past Sunday was Tam Tolley’s father from California.

Thanks to all who attended and helped with the live nativity drive-thru Christmas program on Saturday. Thanks also for the generous donations of non-perishable food items for the local food pantry collected by the deacons at the end of the drive. They are greatly appreciated.

The Natural Bridge Volunteer Fire Department will host a Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 14, from 9 to 11 a.m. The menu will include pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee. Proceeds will benefit the NBVFD Auxiliary. Bring your cameras and take pictures with Santa.

Also at the fire department, there will be a lighted “memory” Christmas tree at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 15, at the firehouse. There will be a $10 fee per memory light. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served after the event. Call (540) 570-0021 or ask any NBVFD member any questions you may have.

The Natural Bridge/ Glasgow food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14, and close at 11 a.m. The High Bridge congregation is collecting canned sweet potatoes, vegetables and fruits for the food pantry during the month of December.
