Dick Rowe, Virginia Military Institute emeritus professor of biology and ornithologist will give a presentation on the century-long history of the Rockbridge Bird Count today, Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 4:30 p.m. at Kendal Hall at Kendal at Lexington.
The Rockbr idge Christmas Bird Count is a local tradition that started in 1923. This year’s count will take place on Dec. 21 and is part of the nationwide event supported by the National Audubon Society.
In this illustrated talk, Rowe will explore the trends and rarities observed in local bird populations, as seen through the field notes of passionate birders. He’ll also share photos from his nature photography website.
