The Rockbridge Chorus, directed by William McCorkle, will present its annual holiday program at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, in the Lexington Presbyterian Church.
As in previous years, the evening will begin with a community carol sing at 7:15 p.m. A special feature of the program will be the return of the Rockbridge Youth Chorale, directed by Lacey Lynch and Katelyn Roll, to join the adult chorus in several selections.
This year’s Chorus repertoire, drawn from singer and audience favorites over the years, will feature music of many lands and styles. Composers and arrangers include Mark Hayes, Matthew Culloton, Jim Papoulis, Morten Lauridsen, Healey Willan, Peter Cornelius, Edward Bairstow, and William Mc-Corkle.
Joining the singers will be collaborative pianist Anna Billias. Soloists will include soprano Christine Fairfield, tenors Scott Williamson and Evan Odson, and baritone David Sorrells.
Over the years, the Choral Society’s December performance has become one of the community’s best loved and most cherished traditions. Advance tickets for the performance can be purchased online from the Rockbridge Choral Society website, rcs.org, at $12.50 per person or $35 for immediate family. Tickets will also be available at the door at $15 per person and $40 for immediate family.
The Rockbridge Chorus is a part of the Rockbridge Choral Society, which receives tax-exempt support from area individuals, businesses, and organizations. For more information, call (540) 460-9650.
