As the holiday season approaches, ConnectionsPlus Healthcare + Hospice invites the community to join them for their 38th annual Light Up a Life memorial ceremony on Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m. at Kendal Hall at Kendal at Lexington.
This special, non-denominational event offers an opportunity to honor and remember loved ones who have passed, particularly during a time that can be difficult for those experiencing grief.
“The Light Up a Life ceremony provides a meaningful way to reflect on the lives of those we have lost through a symbolic light, a name reading, and a candle lighting,” said a spokeswoman. “It is a time to come together to celebrate the memories of those deeply cherished and missed.”
Light refreshments will be served. Individuals wishing to honor a loved one at the ceremony can do so by making a donation to light a light on the holiday tree. Donations can be made through the ConnectionsPlus website at www.connectionsplus.care.
Donors are invited to submit the names of their loved ones along with the desired designation level. All names submitted by Nov. 29 will be read aloud during the event.
For those unable to attend in person, the ceremony will be broadcast live via the ConnectionsPlus Healthcare + Hospice Facebook page and Zoom. To participate virtually via Zoom, send an email to [email protected].

The first step in coping with grief during the holidays is to acknowledge that the holiday season is difficult, said the spokeswoman. You can prepare for it by making specific plans and obtaining the support you need. Sometimes anticipation of a holiday can be more difficult than the day itself.
