Nov. 13, 1974

Lexington City Council approved the sale of a majority interest in Lexington Cable Co. to a firm in Winchester that promised to have cable television service to most of the city by 1975. - John Ballard’s store in Collierstown burned to the ground. The Kerrs Creek Fire Department, which was having a shooting match at the time of the fire, responded immediately. - Lee’s Carpets announced it was laying off 25 workers just in time for Thanksgiving.
