Downtown employees wave to one of the vehicles in the escort for The Wall That Heals traveling replica of the Vietnam Wall Memorial. A number of area residents turned out in downtown to watch the truck carrying the replica and the escort Tuesday afternoon following a kickoff event at Lee Hi Travel Plaza. The replica is now at the Jackson River Sports Complex in Covington through Sunday. When parked, the trailer opens with exhibits built into its sides, allowing it to serve as a mobile education center telling the story of the Vietnam War, The Wall and the divisive era inAmerican history.
