For the second time in the past couple of months, News-Gazette readers have come across very rare white squirrels – or perhaps one squirrel that has traveled several miles. Back in June, Bob Harrison sent in the photo below, of an albino squirrel he and his wife spotted along the Chessie Trail. Then just last week, Albert Newell took a more close-up photo of an white squirrel, pictured above, at his house along Collierstown Road south of Lexington. Is it the same one? Who knows?
