Broadway 8, RC 2

That was the end of the scoring for the Wildcats, though, as the Gobblers would score three runs on two singles in the top of the third to take a 3-2 lead.

In the fourth, Broadway’s Josiah Crider belted a home run to right field to drive in two more runs, extending the Gobblers’ lead to 6-2. Broadway added a run in the fifth and one in the sixth to put the game away.

The Gobblers recorded 11 hits, while RC had two. Conner Michael led Broadway with three hits, while Jackson Plogger had two.

Potter and Sorrells paced RC with two this each.

Sean Martino pitched the first 3.2 innings for the Wildcats, striking out two while allowing five hits, four walks and six earned runs. Zac Majors came to the mound for the next 1.1 innings, surrendering five hits, no walks and two runs (one earned). In the final two innings, Brady Edwards struck out two and permitted one hit, one walk and no earned runs.
