The Rockbridge Retired Teachers will meet on Monday, Dec. 4, at the Holiday Inn Express on U.S. 11 north of Lexington. The meeting will begin at 11 a.m., followed by a box luncheon at noon.
Each year the Retired Teachers award two $700 scholarships, one to a graduating senior at Rockbridge County High School and another to a graduating senior at Parry McCluer High School who plan to pursue a degree in the field of education. There will be a bazaar at the meeting to raise funds for the scholarships. Those attending are asked to bring a baked good or craft item to sell. Monetary gifts will also be appreciated.
The program will include a memorial service for those members who have passed away during the year.
