Rockbridge Conservation will sponsor a USDA biochar workshop on Saturday, Oct. 28, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Kerrs Creek Community Market at 2766 W. Midland Trail.
Area residents are invited to learn the advantages of using biochar and compost tea in their farm and garden. Hosts Brent Wills and Jared Conner will demonstrate efficient methods of creating biochar in a barrel kiln and brewing compost tea.
Master Gardeners will also be on hand to answer questions about composting and help diagnose any composting problems.
