A large crowd attended the Christmas Eve candlelight service at Oxford Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Rob Sherrard conducted the service and Joanna Fainter was the pianist. Among those attending were Hank Rhodenizer and his wife from Houston, Texas, who were here visiting relatives.
The Rev. Sherrard will continue as supply minister at Oxford Church for the next few months. He served Windy Cove Presbyterian Church in Bath County for 38 years before retiring.
Ellen Wheeler from Project Horizon will discuss human trafficking in the Rockbridge area at the adult forum at Oxford Church Sunday, Jan. 8, at 9:45 a.m.
The neighborhood grocery (food pantry) needs cooking oil, sugar and flour for January.
