Oct. 26, 2026 Editor, The News-Gazette: When our local food bank at RARA called our local Dem Party office asking for diaper donations, you understood too clearly how the Big Beautiful Bill has been impacting our struggling families. After all, if you can’t afford to provide enough food for your family, diapers for your baby become luxury items.
For those who have enough, this day-to-day struggle is almost unfathomable, but is totally real.
Beth Macy comes from the same background as those who struggle. She totally understands what it means to have too little. She understands the struggles of our farmers who have been bankrupted by Trump’s tariffs - and more to come if not eliminated.
She knows the extreme environmental effects of data centers if not checked.
