Thanks to everyone who contributed to this year’s trunk or treat event. Approximately 75 children came by for Halloween treats.

November is right around the corner and Daylight Savings Time ends on the Nov. 1. Remember to set your clocks back one hour!

Oxford will hold a congregational meeting immediately following the worship service on the Nov. 1.

The next forum at Oxford will be on Sunday, Nov. 8, following the morning worship service. Spencer McElroy will be speaking on Lime Kiln Theater.

Stewardship Sunday is Nov. 22 and includes our Festival of First Fruits celebration. Also the Palmer Community Thanksgiving Service will be on the evening of Nov. 22, beginning at 5 p.m. The message will be delivered by the Rev. Kyle Segars.

The mobile food pantry provided by RARA and the Campus Kitchen at W&L will be at the Effinger Volunteer Fire Department on Nov. 12 from 2 to 3 p.m.

Oxford is a collection point for the Neighborhood Grocery and there is always a basket available in the narthex for donations. Requested items for October are baking items such as flour, sugar, brownie and cake mixes.

As we enter into the Thanksgiving season let’s take a few moments to recall the many blessings we have received over the past year and consider how we, in turn, are being called to extend blessings to others in our community.
