Three people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. 60 near the Exxon at Poplar Hill on Tuesday morning, Oct. 20.
Lexington Fire Chief Ty Dickerson said all three people were taken to the hospital, one via helicopter.
The accident happened around 7:50 a.m. in the eastbound lanes.
Witnesses said a dump truck crossed the intersection in front of the gas station and two cars hit the truck. Both lanes were blocked while rescue workers responded to the scene.
“I was two cars behind the first accident. For a second, the sun was so blinding you couldn’t see a thing,” Karen Rhodenizer wrote on a Facebook post.
A report on the accident from the Virginia State Police was not available by press time.
