Fall festival season got into full swing this past Saturday with Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church’s annual event. After the showers moved on, it became quite windy and chilly but people still came for the church’s famous Brunswick Stew and apple butter. Sixteen students from the agriculture and forestry classes at RCHS had assisted with stirring the apple butter over a two-day period last week and the RCHS culinary students assisted in the preparation of the potatoes for the stew. Five kettles of apple butter and four kettles of Brunswick Stew were made. There was also a bake sale and yard sale items were available by donation. (Joyce Broughman and Joann Ware photos)
