‘Do The Responsible Thing, Get Vaccinated’

Oct. 12, 2026 Editor, The News-Gazette: I always enjoy reading the opinion and letter pages to learn what folks are thinking and doing. In the Oct. 7 paper, the opinion page had a “To Your Health” column written by Dr. Raeanna Simcoe, a local family doctor. Her column was full of helpful information about the onset of the cold season and how to treat them. The doctor also had a section on treatment for COVID-19 and the flu which is very important. In that section, however, she did not mention how to prevent getting COVID-19 or the flu in the first place, which is by getting vaccinated.
