Event To Benefit Brownsburg Museum

Event To Benefit Brownsburg Museum
FAMED ARTIST Pierre Daura and his wife Louise, who lived in Rockbridge Baths, will be featured in the next rotating exhibit at the Brownsburg Museum.

Next Exhibit Will Focus On Dauras

Vera Winkler and John Knox are inviting the community to “A Harvest Dinner: A Fine Arts Evening with the Dauras,” a benefit for the Brownsburg Museum, on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. in Rockbridge Baths. Location details are available on the museum’s website.

Guests will experience local art — past and present — with plein air painting, photography, museum previews and presentations, local food and wine, and a silent auction.

Every guest will also leave with a keepsake: an artisan bowl, handcrafted by Judd at The Workshop at Timber Ridge. No two bowls are exactly alike, and each one is a lasting reminder of an evening spent supporting local art and history, said a museum spokesperson.

Proceeds from the dinner benefit the Brownsburg Museum’s upcoming exhibition on the Dauras, which will tell more of the Dauras’ story and their place in this region’s artistic heritage.

“This evening brings together so many things our community does well — good food, local artists, and neighbors supporting the museum,” said Coleen Piranian, director of the Brownsburg Museum. “Seating is limited, and we hope people will reserve early.”

Tickets are $125 and are available now through the museum’s website at thebrownsburgmuseum. org (see the event page for A Harvest Dinner: A Fine Arts Evening with the Dauras).
