BV Fall Harvest Dinner Saturday

The Buena Vista Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor its annual Harvest Dinner, in conjunction with the gun, cash and prize raffle drawing, this Saturday, Oct. 17.

The dinner will start at 4:30 p.m. and end around 7. The department will again offer both carryout as a drive-thru from the alley and eat-in in the community room.

The dinner will consist of ham and/or turkey, dressing and gravy, mashed potatoes, baked apples, green beans, brown beans, slaw, cranberry sauce, roll, desserts and drink (no drink with carryout).

The cost of the meal will be $16 for one meat or $18 for two meats. Patrons can receive $1 off the meal with the purchase of a gun raffle ticket. (Must bring raffle ticket to receive discount; one ticket per meal).

The Harvest Dinner committee is asking for assistance to make this dinner a success. “We are requesting our local business or citizens to make a minimum donation of $25 to offset the cost of the food items,” said a spokesperson. “As everyone knows, the cost of food has gone up tremendously, so any contributions we can get will help our fundraising effort.”

The Buena Vista Volunteer Fire Department was organized in 1905 and been serving Buena Vista and Rockbridge County ever since.
