LLL Meeting At RAHC

Welcoming the new nursing baby home will be the topic at the next La Leche League meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 10 a.m. in the community room of the Rockbridge Health Center on the second floor accessible via elevator.

A baby can be a major life transition for many couples. LLL meetings provide a forum to ask questions and learn about the baby’s hunger cues, how to know if the baby is getting enough milk, and strategies to prevent sore nipples or engorgement in the early weeks. How to get more sleep when the baby seems to be nursing around the clock and being certain to consume the extra calories needed to make milk for the baby - both become so important to new parents.

Meetings are free and open to all pregnant, nursing moms, fathers, babies and children. A lending library is available with a wide range of topics relevant in the early phases of parenting, such as how to serve quick and healthy meals to dealing with post-baby blues. Snacks will also be provided.

For questions or directions, contact Cindy at (540) 460-3966 or [email protected].
