Thursday, Oct. 1 -- The Parry McCluer High School team picked up a 3-0 Pioneer District win over Highland County in Buena Vista.
Josie Martinez served up 11 aces and tallied six kills as the Fighting Blues coasted to a 25-5, 25-14, 25-22 victory. Jorja Catlett had nine assists, six digs and four aces for PM (3-11, 2-3 district), while Sophie Porterfield and Presley Camden notched three aces apiece. Camden also paced the back row with 10 digs.
Anna Meehan had four service aces for the Rams (4-6, 0-5), and Brooklyn Bussard added three aces.
The Blues will return to the court against Riverheads on Monday, beginning with the junior varsity contest at 5:30 p.m.
