Fall is here! Have you noticed the changes in the air and the mellow quality of sunlight in the evenings? The cardinals and blue jays that have made themselves scarce over the summer are beginning to show back up for the fall and winter. We are blessed to live in such a beautiful area. Make a moment to enjoy it and give thanks.
Oxford’s cemetery and headstone cleaning project will be finishing up tomorrow. Thank you, Mr. Bussey, for your leadership in organizing this project and sharing your expertise.
Oxford’s Children’s Sunday School is back in session each Sunday at 10 a.m. Thanks to the many volunteers that make this happen each week.
This week the adult Sunday school class, led by the Rev. Segars, will begin their study of Bonhoeffer’s “The Cost of Discipleship.” This would be a great time to try out our adult class! You can pick up a copy of Bonhoeffer’s book in the adult classroom.
The Forum at Oxford returns on Sept. 27 with guest speaker Jen Irwin. She will be sharing her experience on the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage through France, Spain and Portugal. The Forum takes place immediately after the Sunday morning worship.
Remember The Neighborhood Grocery when you shop this week. Oxford is a collection point and there is always a basket available in the narthex for donations. September’s focus is on back to school snacks and lunch items. Personal hygiene items are always welcome as well.
