More than a dozen volunteers, including Mayor Tom Mc-Craw and town council members Steve Bickley, Derrick Ogden, Chris Robertson and Shelia Sampson, turned out to construct a pavilion for the lawn in front of Goshen’s town hall on Maury River Road on Saturday, Sept. 12. The pavilion was purchased with money from a $15,000 Community Challenge Grant from AARP, which is being spent on a number of improvements toward creating an “age friendly space” in front of town hall. The town has already spent part of the money on landscaping to install flowerbeds in front of town hall and will also purchase benches, a game board, and signage for the area.
