As a special part of the Buena Vista Labor Days festivities, the city of Buena Vista conducted a ceremony for the burial of a new time capsule on Inspiration Hill that won’t be unearthed for 50 years. Mayor Jesse Lineberry (far right), wore a bicentennial tie that was in a time capsule from 1976 that was opened on July 4. The items that were to be placed in the new time capsule were on display at the main pavilion prior to the ceremony. Ron Cash, a City Council member who represents Buena Vista on the local VA250 committee, looks over those items in the photo at top right, helped carry the new capsule to its resting place with Lineberry in photo at right and also spoke at the event as seen below.
