A Lexington man was taken into custody following a recent traffic stop conducted by members of the James River Regional Drug Task Force.
According to a press release from the Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Office, Tav Wayne Sensabaugh, 50, was arrested on Aug. 23 following the stop, during which investigators seized more than 15 ounces of methamphetamine, 11 grams of powdered cocaine and 11 grams of crack cocaine.
He was charged with one count of possession of 100 grams of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug with intent to distribute (third or subsequent offense) and one count of possession of a schedule I or II drug.
He is currently being held without bond at the Rockbridge Regional Jail. A preliminary hearing on the charges has been scheduled on Dec. 21 in Rockbridge County General District Court.
“This arrest is the result of outstanding teamwork and a shared commitment to keeping dangerous drugs out of our communities,” Rockbridge County Sheriff Tony McFaddin said in the press release. “I want to thank the dedicated men and women of the James River Regional Drug Task Force and our partner agencies for their relentless efforts to protect the citizens of Rockbridge County, Lexington, and Buena Vista.”
According to the press release, the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be forthcoming.
