‘Vote For Meaningful Change’ In Glasgow

Aug. 26, 2026 Editor, The News-Gazette: New leadership and a new town manager are needed in Glasgow.

At the August meeting of the Glasgow Town Council, no minutes from the previous meeting were presented, and no treasurer’s report was provided. I personally witnessed the town manager taking minutes during the July meeting, so citizens deserve to know why those minutes were not available.

Council members also received and reviewed their meeting packets on the day of the August meeting, leaving little time for proper preparation.

During the July meeting, citizens raised important questions, yet the town manager did not schedule the promised workshop to address their concerns. Councilwoman Natalie Harris was the only Council member who appeared to object to this lack of follow-through.

The town manager works for the town of Glasgow and has a responsibility to serve the community with accountability and transparency. Unfortunately, it appears that some members of the Council are willing to accept less.

As a Glasgow business owner and concerned citizen, I encourage Glasgow residents to vote for meaningful change this November. Our town deserves leadership that listens to its citizens, fulfills its responsibilities, and conducts town business openly and transparently.
