Farm Credit of the Virginias an nou nced that Bobbi Loudermilk, a loan officer in the Lexington branch, retired Aug. 31 after 45 years with the Association.
Loudermilk has called Lexington home her entire life. She joined Farm Credit in April 1981 as a loan assistant and advanced to positions of increasing responsibility throughout her long tenure, including loan officer and branch manager.
Loudermilk had the opportunity to be part of opening a full-time branch in Lexington in 1993. Additionally, she worked in the Association’s Lewisburg branch two days a week from 2006 to 2012.
Loudermilk enjoyed assisting so many members with the purchase of a rural home, farm or land. “I loved helping the farmers,” she said. “I was thrilled to see them purchase cattle, get a new tractor or another piece of equipment, or improve their farm in some way.”
Reflecting on her time, Loudermilk continued, “I am honored to have been a part of so many folks’ lives, helping them to achieve their goals and having the opportunity to be a part of some of the biggest decisions they’ve made.”
When asked what she’d miss the most at Farm Credit, she said, “I will definitely miss the people most – both customers and coworkers.”
Joey Cornwell, regional sales and lending manager, shared, “A 45-year career is more than a milestone, it is a legacy. Bobbi’s commitment to our members, our team and her community has made Farm Credit stronger and touched so many people along the way. We are deeply grateful for her contributions and wish her every happiness in retirement.”
Upon retirement, Loudermilk said she’ll be keeping busy on her family farm. She is also looking forward to having more time for her hobbies, cooking and sewing, and plans to do some volunteer work in her free time, as well.
