Several different packages of Halloween candy have been recalled by the FDA at stores across Virginia including TJ Maxx.
Crystal Temptations has recalled Halloween Chocolatey Eyeballs because they contain undeclared milk allergens.
"People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products," FDA officials said.
So far, no one has gotten sick. The company, which is based in New Jersey, has recalled candies that were distributed in Arizona, Texas, Virginia, Georgia, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Indiana, Nevada, California, New Jersey, Connecticut, Ohio, and Wyoming.
An investigation indicates the problem was caused by a temporary breakdown in the company's production and packaging processes.
People who bought the candies are encouraged to destroy them or reach out to Crystal Temptations for a refund. .
The Lexington TJ Maxx opened last month in the College Square Shopping Center.
