Downtown Lexington will come alive this Saturday, Aug. 29, as the Rockbridge Community Festival returns for its 49th year. The festival will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A Rockbridge County tradition dating back to 1976, the annual festival brings together artisans, food vendors, local businesses, nonprofit organizations and community groups for one of the area’s largest annual community events.
Festivalgoers can browse a wide variety of booths featuring handmade goods, art, local products, food and more throughout the day. Live music will also be part of this year’s festival, with Stacy Stevens performing at Courthouse Square from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The festival will be held rain or shine. Main Street and portions of surrounding downtown streets will be closed to vehicle traffic during the event to provide space for vendors and festivalgoers. Attendees are encouraged to plan accordingly when traveling and parking downtown Saturday.
The Rockbridge Community Festival is organized through a partnership between the Lexington-Rockbridge Jaycees and the Lexington Rotary Club. Proceeds from the festival are reinvested into the community through local programs and nonprofit organizations.
