Workers have been putting the finishing touches on the artificial turf field at Prasnicki-Ross Field at Veterans Stadium at Rockbridge County High School, just in time for the varsity football team’s season opener this Friday at 7 p.m. against Parry McCluer. The field is built to professionalgrade standards and designed to handle the heavy use that has worn down the school’s existing grass field over the years. The artificial turf project, which is being contracted through LandTek, will make it easier for the field to recover from rain. RC is the only high school in Virginia with Pivot turf, the next-generation turf system designed without performance infill and developed through athlete-centric research. (RC Athletics photo)
