If you were fortunate enough to be in Iceland or Spain on Aug. 12 you may have seen the total solar eclipse. For about one minute, the sun was completely blocked by the moon and daylight turned to darkness. In Buena Vista, only 3% of the solar disk was covered. Even with eclipse glasses it was difficult to distinguish the difference. I had two separate telescopes out, fitted with solar filters and took photos at about the time of maximum eclipse.
