How amazing to have so many strings and voices praising together. Joann Blouin, Teresa Thompson, Hope Bird, Karen Duff, Deb Jarret, Rachel and Marigold Clark were on ukuleles, and they were joined by Ray Blouin (banjo), Tim Hodges (upright bass), Calvin Clark (piano) and Casey Clark (mandolin). Many of these instruments and players will be showing up at the creek to jam at the ice cream social by the Hotinger Creek on Sunday, Aug. 23, at 3 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Bring a camping chair for this time of food and fellowship.
Sunday, Aug. 30, is Music Sunday. We are looking forward to a music-filled day. Following the service there will be a potluck luncheon with tortillas and meat provided. Please bring a side or taco topping to share. The Baja mission team will show pictures from their trip and share about their experience.
You are invited to join in the Global Week of Prayer taking places Sept. 6-13. Commit to specific times of prayer throughout the week, lifting up the needs of the world. There is a calendar in the sanctuary to sign up for hour-long slots. We hope to fill as many of the slots during this 24/7 time period as we can.
New Monmouth will move back to our regular worship schedule beginning on Sept. 13. Sunday school kicks off at 10 a.m. Worship, with the celebration of Holy Communion, will take place at 11.
