The City Council of the City of Lexington will hold a public hearing during its regular meeting on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the first-floor meeting room of the Rockbridge County Administrative Offices, 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Virginia, concerning proposed Ordinance 2026-10. If adopted, the proposed ordinance will amend Section 403-17 of the Code of the City of Lexington, to clarify language regarding the timing of disconnections for nonpayment on residential accounts. A copy of the proposed ordinance may be examined either (i) at the Office of the City Manager at 539 East Nelson Street, on the second floor, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or (ii) on the City’s website (www.lexingtonva.gov).
