Amenie Mitchell and Wendy Redfern of the Rockbridge Regional Library complete the burial of a time capsule last week in front of the library’s Lexington headquarters. The project, “Voices of Lexington: America 250 Community Time Capsule,” commemorates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The time capsule, which contains letters to future residents, various mementoes, newspapers, photographs, artwork and descriptions of everyday life, will be opened in 2076. (Becca Smith photos)
