The front entrance to the Comfort Inn in East Lexington is temporarily closed after a moving truck slammed into the hotel’s awning on Tuesday night, July 7. The accident happened around 9 p.m. and left parts of the awning's roof and a brick column damaged.
Hotel manager Karolay Silva said they are working with the insurance company and contractors to figure out the next steps on the repairs. “It’s probably going to be a long time,” Silva said. “They say it is going to be a huge project to fix it.”
For now, guests are asked to use the hotel’s side entrance.
