A Buena Vista man died early last Thursday morning when his motorcycle crashed on U.S. 501 in Bedford County.
According to Virginia State Police, Harald Dee Hiser Jr., 64, was headed northbound near the intersection with Va. 841 when he hit a deer at 1:20 a.m. He was thrown from his bike and died at the scene.
Hiser was driving a 1996 Harley-Davidson. He was wearing a helmet.
