Pavilion Dedicated

Pavilion Dedicated

Over 75 community members gathered on June 15 for the dedication of the new timber frame pavilion at Project Horizon. Drew Ditzel, Project Horizon board member, led the dedication with the words: “We dedicate this space to the belief, grounded in Project Horizon’s very story, that a small group of people around a table can produce amazing things. And we look forward to this pavilion being the newest place in Rockbridge County that empowers and provides sanctuary as we seek to be a community of justice and hope.” Judy Casteele, executive director, surprised Cindy and Grigg Mullen Jr. (pictured left) by announcing that the Project Horizon board had voted to name the pavilion the Mullen Gathering Place in recognition of the Mullens “who have time again and again shown us what it means to be a community where all people are valued and welcomed.” The Mullen Gathering Place is free and open for use by the community. Call Project Horizon at (540) 463-7861 for more information.
