Having Fun With Bees

Having Fun With Bees

Fifty-six children and 20 adults attended the second activity of “Glorify Glasgow: Let’s Grow & Protect,” held at Natural Bridge Elementary School Thursday. Children learned that bees are critical to a healthy environment and how they can help save them. During the program, presented by the Local History Center of the Rockbridge Regional Library System, the children made a bee hotel where bees can rest (shown below) and a paper seed pod with native wildflowers to plant at home (shown in two photos at left). The children also enjoyed being pollen-gathering bees in a relay game (at bottom left). (all photos by Carolyn Bradley)
