Visitors to High Bridge Presbyterian Church this past Sunday included Patrick and Erin Braford and their sons James, Luke and daughter Emma of Richmond. They were here visiting family and helping Patrick’s dad, Bill Braford, celebrate his 80th birthday. Also, Diane Cochran of Amherst visited the area and attended church service with Gayle Tolley.
The congregation enjoyed the Presbyterian Women’s birthday cake challenge on the lawn, as well as having Maria Gopadze of Lithia as guest speaker. The winner of the cake challenge will be announced next week. Donation votes will be counted for favorite cakes. The funds will be used to assist worldwide missions. Also, the local PW mission for the second quarter is Lisa’s House. Donations can be dropped into the box at the narthex at church or delivered to Lisa’s House. Betsy Shepherd is the mission chairperson and will have a list of items needed.
The evening circle met last Tuesday at Faye Worley’s and Gayle Tolley led the Bible lesson.
The Men’s Group is taking a break this summer. They will pick back up in the fall with a study of the book of Thessalonians.
The Natural Bridge/Glasgow Food Pantry is having a board meeting at 4 p.m. on June 8 at Beth Horon United Methodist Church to finalize plans for the food pantry’s 30th anniversary, which will be July 18. The food pantry will open promptly at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 6, and close at 11 a.m. They welcome donations of boxed mac and cheese dinners for the month of May.
