At a special 3½-hour meeting, the Lexington City School Board eliminated the school bus program. Teacher aides were retained after rumors that those positions were being cut. - Susan Brownell, a Lexington High School Sophomore, was the outstanding individual performer in the Girl’s Group AA State Track and Field meet held at Madison College. - Phoebe Towberman retired from teaching after 42 years. She began her career in a one-room school house in Collierstown.
