Wednesday, May 27 -- The Rockbridge County High School girls lacrosse team's Region 4D semifinal game against E.C. Glass was suspended after one quarter due to inclement weather at The Fields at Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista.
The top-seeded Wildcats (14-1) were leading the fourth-seeded Hilltoppers (7-7) by a 10-1 count when play was halted due to lightning in the area. The contest is slated to resume at 7 p.m. Thursday in Buena Vista.
The regional championship game is set for Tuesday, June 2. The RC-Glass winner will take on the winner of a matchup between second-seeded Blacksburg and No. 3 seed Salem.
