The Buena Vista Police Department is seeking assistance in identifying a suspect who is believed to be connected to the theft of property outside of a local business.
In a post on the department’s Facebook page Saturday evening, the department requested help in identifying an individual, with images from a security camera attached.
The individual, the post said, is being sought in connection “with a larceny that occurred … in the 2400 block of Beech Avenue” at around 4 a.m. on the morning of May 22.
Additionally, the post requested anyone who lives or works in the area who has security cameras at their homes or businesses check the footage “for any suspicious activity or vehicles” between 3:30 and 4:30 that morning. Anyone with information is asked to call BVPD at (540) 261-6171 or email [email protected].
“We are continuing to actively investigate this incident. Since the release of our social media post, we have received several leads, all of which are currently being followed up on by our officers,” Buena Vista Police Chief David Clements told The News-Gazette in an email Tuesday morning. “Our investigation remains ongoing as we work to identify and locate the individual involved. We encourage anyone with additional information related to this incident to come forward and contact our department.”
