The War Against the Constitution
While Democrats were putting on rallies to promote silly No Kings Day events, many Republicans, independents and other Democrats were concerned about a “No Constitution” campaign that seems to be becoming a part of many Democrat’s goals.
Instead of the state and national constitutions being the cornerstone of our legal system, many Democrats have decided the constitutions are just in the way of getting oneparty control.
Here in Virginia, the state Supreme Court ruled the April 21 election to gerrymander the state was unconstitutional and not a proper election. ( Why c ould t hey not have ruled this earlier and saved the state and local governments lots of money for the cost of unnecessary election is beyond the understanding of a lot of citizens?)
This fall, Virginia voters will again vote on three more questionable issues trying to change the state constitution to favor one party.
Since the Virginia Supreme Court decision, some Virginia legislators have called for replacing the current judges on that court with new judges that will interpret the state constitution as a document “to just consider” when it comes to political issues and even advocating a rather strange age limit restriction on judges.
In short, they see the Virginia Constitution as only a list of suggestions and not a legal document, thus giving the majority political party the right to trample on the rights of those who disagree in minority parties.
Democrat leaders in Fairfax County, the state’s most populous county, are facing criticism for what has been called “an epidemic of violence by illegal immigrants” that has left 12 dead in the Washington, D.C., suburb.
Seven illegal immigrants have been arrested in Fairfax County recently for violent attacks ranging from infanticide to a machete killing and gang activity. Despite these arrests, critics claim the Fairfax County leaders are prioritizing criminal illegal immigrants over the Americans’ safety by maintaining sanctuary city policies that limit cooperation with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Gov. Abigail Spanberger is also facing criticism for her executive order on the first day in office that reversed a state policy of cooperating with ICE.
Perhaps, the most blatant example of the Fairfax sanctuary policy involved Abdul Jalloh, 32, an illegal immigrant from Sierra Leone who was charged with the stabbing death of 41- year-old Virginia resident Stephanie Minter for no apparent reason at a bus stop. Fairfax County Police arrested and charged Abdul Jalloh, 32, with second-degree murder and larceny for a crime committed the day after the murder.
The Department of Homeland Security reported Jalloh had been arrested more that 30 times for charges that included rape, malicious wounding, assault, drug possession, identity theft, larceny, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, pickpocketing, and legally firing a weapon but ICE was not informed of the arrests of this individual.
Thanks to Governor Spanberger’s decree, all of Virginia’s law enforcement now have a similar policy regarding illegal immigrants like those that exist in Fairfax County. T hus, t he r ights o f illegal immigrants take priority over the right of safety to Virginia citizens.
On a national level, we now have leading Democrat politicians, including the minority leader in the House of Representatives and former vice president and former presidential candidate Kamala Harris calling for deleting much of the Constitution, including ending the Electoral College. A provision the founding fathers included to ensure that the national election of president was not decided by just the large states and cities of our country.
They and other leading Democrats have called for expanding the size of the Supreme Court with judges that put politics over law in their interpretation of the Constitution.
The reasoning behind the questionable legality of the open border policy of the Biden Administration and earlier Obama administration was a plan to protect and expand Democrat control of the Congress. The 2020, and earlier the 2010, census reports showed largely Democratcontrolled states like California, Illinois, New York and others were losing population and as a result losing the number of Congressional seats they controlled.
The way the census law is written, illegal immigrants are counted as if they were citizens for determining Congressional representation. Thus began a policy of encouraging illegal immigration and the movement of the illegal immigrants to Democratcontrolled states and to states Democrats hoped to increase political strength.
When illegal immigration became one of the major reasons for Trump’s victory, Democrats began efforts to attack ICE and promote sanctuary cities and support for illegal immigration.
The lie that it would take immigration reform and years to stop the flow of illegal immigrants was disproven in only a few months and has resulted in a sharp decline in murder and other violent crimes nationwide.
While legal immigration has helped America, the unchecked illegal immigration has resulted in crime and high costs to taxpayers for such things as health care and education. Some hospitals in the country are facing financial ruin due to the law requiring them to treat illegal immigrants even though they are not being compensated for the cost of treating the illegals, many of whom are entering the country with serious medical problems.
Education of illegals from all over the world that do not speak English or commonly taught languages like Spanish, French or German are creating a burden on schools beyond more than most school’s “English as a second language” ability to accommodate and deeply cut into school budgets. Education achievement since the Covid epidemic has been on the decline and the added burden of illegal immigrant children has not helped improve the situation in many schools.
While according to the law it is illegal to help individuals in the country illegally, states like Virginia issue driver’s licenses to illegals. Some states like Illinois, New York and California have issued semitruck driving licenses to illegals who can’t even read the traffic signs with deadly results.
The first duty of a country is to protect its citizens. This duty seems to be forgotten, and the rule of law is being ignored for political reasons.
Ronald Reagan said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction.”
Perhaps, even more important he also said, “We didn’t pass it to our children in t he b loodstream. I t m ust be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.”
Something for your consideration as you hear politicians condemn law enforcement agents and protect illegal immigrants or propose dramatic changes to our state and national constitutions for political reasons rather than the rule of law.
