Herb Guild Offers Grants For Projects

The Valley of Virginia Herb Guild would like to remind local organizations of the opportunity to apply to the Guild for funds to support community projects that relate to the study, use, or growth of herbs. Proposals are accepted and reviewed annually. This year the deadline for submission is Wednesday, July 1.

To be considered, proposed projects must meet the following criteria: an herbal focus, an educational component, and a target audience within Rockbridge County. If possible, applications should be completed by individuals who are not also Guild members.

Interested parties may request an application form via email at welsheimert@gmail. com. Include “VVHG Grant” in the subject line. Applications will be reviewed after July 1, and applicants will be notified of the Guild’s funding decision prior to the end of November 2026. Founded in 1994, the Guild’s mission is to study and grow herbs and impart knowledge of their uses to the public. The Guild maintains a public herb garden near Davidson Park, sponsors speaking engagements and workshops for the community, and holds a public herb sale each year in May.
