Steve Hart of Hart-Land Farm will give a beginner friendly talk on keeping a family dairy cow at the June event for Rockbridge County Homesteaders.
Those attending will visit with one of Hart’s cows and learn how he manages grazing his grass-fed dairy herd.
Hart’s farm hosts the Kerrs Creek farmers market, so the group will meet at the Kerrs Creek Farm Stand on June 6 at noon. Those attending can come early and check out the market, or join the group at noon for lunch. Bring a chair or a blanket, dress appropriately, and be prepared for a little walking.
The event will not take place if it’s pouring rain.
