RAHC Offering School Vaccinations, Physicals

Rockbridge Area Health Center is partnering with Rockbridge County Public Schools and Buena Vista City Public Schools to offer physical exam and vaccination clinics close to home, helping families save time and avoid the August appointment crunch.

“By late summer, appointments fill quickly, and families are often scrambling at the last minute,” says Kerri Stillwell, school-based physician assistant at RAHC. “Schedule now, beat the rush, and start the school year, and sports season, worry-free.

RAHC mobile medical teams will be on-site at the following locations: - June 11, 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Natural Bridge Elementary School - July 2, noon to 4:30 p.m., Central Elementary School - July 14, 7 to 11 a.m., Rockbridge County High School - July 16, 3 to 6:30 p.m., Parry McCluer High School - July 21, 3 to 6:30 p.m., Rockbridge County High School - July 23, 7 to 11 a.m., Parry McCluer High School - July 28, 7 to 11 a.m., Rockbridge County High School - July 30, 3 to 6:30 p.m., Parry McCluer High School All clinics will provide sports physicals, kindergarten physicals, and immunizations, including catch-up vaccines required for school enrollment.

For student-athletes, physical exams completed at these clinics remain valid for 14 months, providing ample coverage for the entire school year. Parents must fill out the required Virginia High School League (VHSL) physical forms ahead of their visit and should plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early.

RAHC accepts most insurance plans, Medicaid, and Medicare. A sliding fee discount program is available for those who qualify.
