Leads Wildcats To 5-0 Win Over Rocktown
Entering the final week of the season, the Rockbridge County High School girls soccer team earned a 5-0 road win over Rocktown on Monday of last week before suffering Shenandoah District shutout losses to Wilson Memorial and Riverheads.
The Wildcats ended the week at 4-11-0 overall and 3-11-0 in the district.
In the nondistrict game against Rocktown in Harrisonburg, senior Lucy Boller-Pinkham scored all five goals. Her fifth goal was her 60th career goal.

WM 7, RC 0
Returning to district action on Tuesday of last week, the Wildcats suffered a 7-0 road loss to Wilson Memorial (9-4-2 overall, 8-4-2 district) in Fishersville.
The Green Hornets had previously beaten the Wildcats 6-0 in the season opener on March 20 in Lexington.
In the rematch, Marshall made 13 saves.
Riverheads 2, RC 0
The Wildcats concluded the week with a 2-0 home loss to Riverheads on Thursday at The Fields at Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista.
The Gladiators (9-3-2 overall and district), who had beaten the Wildcats 2-0 on April 14 at Riverheads, scored both of their goals in the first half in the rematch.
With several players missing the Wildcats had some junior varsity players step up, while some varsity players switched to different positions.
After halftime, RC’s defense stepped up, and the Wildcats kept the Gladiators scoreless in the second half.
“The first half was a little rough, but we were able to make some adjustments, and we figured it out as a team,” said RC head coach Carrie Dietz.
In goal, Marshall made 15 saves, including several impressive stops in the second half.
The Wildcats were scheduled to play at Fort Defiance last night and will conclude the season at SVU tonight, Wednesday, when they play host to district rival Alleghany, with the varsity game only at 5:30 p.m. Before the game, the Wildcats will honor their five seniors.
