6 p.m. - Buena Vista Fire Department Carnival, at Camden Field, corner of 10th Street and Magnolia Avenue, food and drinks available, rides by Valley Amusements with $20 unlimited wristbands, live music by ON3.

6 p.m. – Discussion of the book “Israel on the Appomattox,” part of the Rockbridge Historical Society’s “Revolutionary Books” series, at the Rockbridge Regional Library.

6 p.m. - Buena Vista Fire Department Carnival, unlimited rides $20 with wristbands, live music by Blue Connection.

Friday, May 29

11 a.m. - Buena Vista Fire Department barbecue chicken sale at the firehouse; halves $7 and dinners $12, which includes chicken half, three sides and roll.

6 p.m. - Buena Vista Fire Department Carnival, unlimited rides $20 with wristbands, live music by Movin’ On with Wayne Carter.

Saturday, May 30

10 a.m. to noon – “ Water in Action: A Live Monitoring Experience,” at Jordans Point pebble beach, featuring demonstrations of river health monitoring techniques, sponsored by Rockbridge Conservation; rain date is Sunday, May 31.

6 p.m. - Buena Vista Fire Department Carnival, unlimited rides $20 with wristbands, live music by Sweetwater.

Wednesday, June 3 10 a.m. – Meeting, Greater Lexington Newcomers Club , starting with social time and then business meeting at 10:30; James Lambert, newly appointed director of Lifelong Learning and professor of English at W&L, will be speaking, Innovation Center, RCHS.
