The “School that Built Us” celebration drew a huge crowd to Parry McCluer Middle School Saturday for an open house and surplus sale. Vendors, such as Kay Watts who offers esthetician services (above), also set up at the school. Prints of the Buena Vista schools (top left) were available, and old Parry McCluer athletic uniforms – for only a quarter – were very hot items in the surplus sale. PMMS will be merging with the high school this fall, and Saturday’s event gave former high school and middle school students a chance to revisit their “old stomping grounds.” (Stephanie Mikels Blevins photos)
